Facilities

Our aim is for the Red Bus to provide you with comfortable
accommodation for you to enjoy with your friends and family.  Everything
might not be ‘conventional’ but we hope that you will find everything functional - with
an emphasis on the ‘fun’ (or at least ‘quirky’) with many fixtures and fittings being ‘upcycled’/‘re-purposed’ from the bus or elsewhere !

For example, we didn’t want to take up bus space with the bathroom - but you
do want a ‘nice’ toilet and wash facilities (with somewhere clean and dry to put your washbag and clothes down on) that you don’t have to go outside to don’t you ?

“Bathroom” :

So - the toilet, wash hand basin and shower are in a converted caravan
 - parked next to the bus and linked to it through the rear emergency exit door.

“Kitchen” :
At the front of the lower deck there is a food preparation area - with a combination microwave, a two ring hob, toaster, kettle, fridge - and a sink with hot and cold water.
We supply pots and pans, cutlery, plates etc and some basic foodstuffs.

“Dining Area” :

To the rear of the lower deck there is a dining area with seating (original bus seats) around two tables for up to 8 people.  Some more bus seats provide a casual seating area between the “kitchen” and “dining area”.

“Bedrooms” :

On the upper deck there is sleeping space for up to 8 people : a standard double bed, two standard single beds, two narrow single beds and a futon which provides a narrow double or spacious single bed.  We really wanted to keep the bus open plan and still feeling ‘like a bus’ so the sleeping area is open plan (dormitory style) - as you’ll be visiting with family or friends we’re assuming that that won’t be a problem.
However, we’ll welcome feedback in due course on that.  The top deck
also provides a nice space to relax in during the day with - we think -
lovely views of the nursery site and the countryside beyond.

“Heating” :

G637 BPH is still essentially a bus - without insulation and with lots of
windows - so she has a tendency to get hot in the sun and not so hot in cooler
weather and at night.  We have installed a Room Air Conditioning unit on the
lower deck which will provide heat or cool air as required.

“Entertainment” :

We’re sorry but for now the bus will not have wifi - we will see what can be
done about that in the future.  However, the nursery does have good 3G and 4G coverage for most networks. We are assuming that visitors will bring their own tablets/laptops etc if they want to watch dvd’s.

We will supply a selection of books and board games
for you to enjoy with your friends and family !

We will add more information as we get closer to the bus being ready - meanwhile, please give us a call on 01536 791371 or email anne@willowsnursery.co.uk for
more details if you are interested in making a booking.
